VIPER’S BUGLOSS

A UK native, this wildflower produces tall spikes of blue or pink flowers which are a magnet for bees and pollinators. This drought-resistant plant can be included in a wildflower meadow or within a border. Once used to treat snake bites, the markings on the leaves resemble a snake. Medicinally it has a diuretic effect and to promote sweating, therefore can be used to expel toxins. Usually a biennial, it self seeds readily where allowed.
