From Japan, a fine hardy herbaceous perennial with serrated foliage and white flowers. The root is used in Kampo medicine and helps to regulate menstrual flow, calming and easing pain. The leaves are used for frostbite. It is related to Angelica sinensis (Dang Gui) but is easier to grow.
