North American medicinal herb with brilliant golden root. Important mucous membrane healer, externally for sores and wounds. Used in homeopathy. Enjoys a slightly moist soil enriched with leafmould and some quite dense shade in the summer, so quite specific conditions to get established. It usually takes several seasons for the roots to fully develop.
