A small tree originating from the countries bordering the Red Sea but surprisingly almost hardy here. Grow like a Bay tree in a large pot and bring inside to a cool greenhouse or sheltered place during cold winters. The leaves and stems have a reddish hue and can be infused (in moderation) as a herb tea providing a very mild mental stimulant and appetite suppressant. This effect can be similar to drinking a cup of tea (Camellia sinensis) or coffee (Coffea arabica).
